As the first major cold chain hub developed by Yuhu Cold Chain in East China, the facility offers a storage capacity of 218,000 tons. Serving as a core project for Yuhu's strategic presence in the Yangtze River Delta region, the center encompasses four functional zones: international cold chain food trading, cold storage, integrated processing, and supporting services. Leveraging Yuhu's core strengths, the project aims to foster integrated development across multiple sectors including commerce, services, logistics, finance, and tourism, marking a key step in Yuhu Group's expansion in the East China market and the continuous improvement of its nationwide logistics network.

"This '1+1' model with Xingang area near the city center focusing on urban distribution and display transactions, while Longtan area serves as a logistics hub for the Nanjing-Zhenjiang-Yangzhou region is the first of its kind among Yuhu's national projects," explained Lü Huijun, Director of the Domestic Investment Center at Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone. The Xingang section will function as a core offline interaction platform for cold chain foods, capitalizing on its proximity to the city center, while the Longtan section will utilize the advantages of the national logistics hub to handle storage and distribution, laying a foundation for global high-end cold chain supply chain connectivity.

"Once the second phase of the project is launched in Longtan, it will not only help the Development Zone build a global high-end cold chain supply chain center but also attract upstream and downstream enterprises, strengthening Nanjing's role as a regional shipping and logistics hub," said Wei Jia, Vice President of Yuhu Cold Chain and Chairman of Yuhu Cold Chain Nanjing Co., Ltd. Upon completion, the project will integrate four functional zones international cold chain food trading, cold storage, comprehensive processing, and supporting services achieving full supply chain coverage from frozen food storage, trading, and auction to processing and logistics. It will also incorporate tourism functions and strategic reserve roles, positioning itself as a "full-chain cold chain service hub and urban safeguard base radiating across the Yangtze River Delta."

The project is scheduled for completion in 2028. It will form a complementary yet competitive relationship with existing local markets such as Nanjing Zhongcai and Tianhuan, filling the gap for large-scale agricultural cold chain logistics facilities in the northern part of the region. Additionally, it is expected to drive development across multiple industries including commerce, logistics, and tourism, injecting new momentum into both the quality of life and economic growth of the Nanjing Metropolitan Area.
